The Community Science Workshop movement

People often ask us “how did you think to start a space like this?”

We were inspired by a thriving network of Community Science Workshops that started over 25 years ago in San Francisco. While each site has its own flavor, they are united by a common mission to provide hands-on science and tinkering opportunities to help children from low-income communities gain confidence and grow academically, while also developing a genuine interest in the world around them. Other sites include: Mission Science Workshop, Watsonville Science Workshop and Greenfield Science Workshop.
